Wind
Futaleufu dam site, Argentina: Following a major fault in the transmission system in 2008, the dam, substation and transmission lines were cleaned every 10 days for several months as a precaution, due to ongoing light ashfalls and wind-remobilised
ash. The desire to reduce remobilization of ash around the dam site by vehicle traffic contributed to management deciding to maintain operations with a permanent skeleton crew for a period of one month, rather than rotating shifts.
