U.S. Geological Survey
Saturday, April 1, 2023, 7:20 AM ChST (Friday, March 31, 2023, 21:20 UTC)
Report prepared by the U.S. Geological Survey.
AHYI SEAMOUNT VOLCANO (VNUM #284141)
20°25'12" N 145°1'48" E, Summit Elevation -259 ft (-79 m)
Current Volcano Alert Level: ADVISORY
Current Aviation Color Code: YELLOW
No volcanic activity was seen in satellite images over the past day from Ahyi Seamount during partly cloudy views. Pressure sensor data from Wake Island deteced one possible signal from the direction of Ahyi, but the origin and cause are not clear.
There are no local monitoring stations near Ahyi Seamount, which limits our ability to detect and characterize volcanic unrest there. We will continue to monitor available remote hydrophonic, seismic, and satellite data closely.
