HAWAIIAN VOLCANO OBSERVATORY INFORMATION STATEMENT
U.S. Geological Survey
Sunday, February 1, 2026, 11:18 AM HST (Sunday, February 1, 2026, 21:18 UTC)

The USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory website is currently offline.  This appears to be part of a larger issue with USGS public websites.  The current outage has had no impact on HVO's ability to transmit data or monitor for volcanic and seismic activity.  All internal monitoring systems are currently active as is the HANS/VNS system that sends notices to emergency management and public subscribers.

The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory is one of five volcano observatories within the U.S. Geological Survey and is responsible for monitoring volcanoes and earthquakes in Hawaiʻi and American Samoa.
