Software

Software developed by the USGS Volcano Science Center

Swarm

Swarm is a Java application designed to display and analyze seismic waveforms in real-time. Swarm can connect to and read from a variety of different static and dynamics data sources, including Earthworm waveservers, IRIS DMCs, SEED and SAC files, and simple ASCII. Swarm has both time- and frequency-domain analysis tools, along with a simple but powerful mapping platfrom. A full-screen kiosk mode can act as a low-cost, low-maintenance replacement for paper drum recorders. Swarm was written by and for scientists and provides fine control over many different program settings and variables. The code is open source, freely available, and in the PUBLIC domain.

Winston

Winston is a Java-based seismic wave server, which provides data and plots to clients. The code is open source, freely available, and in the public domain.

Pensive

Pensive is a Java application designed to allow visualizing, in near real-time, spectral content of continuous seismic waveforms from a number of sensors deployed on active volcanoes. The code is open source, freely available, and in the public domain.

logger2csv

logger2csv pulls records from a remote CampbellScientific data logger and creates a series of daily CSV files. The code is open source, freely available, and in the public domain.

HYDROTHERM

The HYDROTHERM computer program simulates multi-phase ground-water flow and associated thermal energy transport in three dimensions. It can handle high fluid pressures, up to 1 x 109 Pa (104 atm), and high temperatures, up to 1,200°C. The graphical user interface has been developed for defining a simulation, running the HYDROTHERM simulator interactively, and displaying the results. The combination of the GUI and the HYDROTHERM simulator forms the HYDROTHERM INTERACTIVE (HTI) program. HTI can be used for two-dimensional simulations only.
