USGS Volcano Hazards Program Volcano Update
Nearly continuous, low-level volcanic tremor continues to be seen in seismic data. Elevated surface temperatures at the intracaldera cone of Veniaminof volcano were detected in satellite data today. Incandescence in night-time views and low-level ash and steam emissions were observed in images from the FAA web camera positioned in Perryville. Available data indicate an ongoing low-level eruption characterized by intermittent effusion of lava and emission of minor amounts of ash and steam.
