USGS Volcano Hazards Program Volcano Update

On Saturday, October 13, residents on the Kenai Peninsula reported seeing a dark stripe on Iliamna. Photographs and seismicity indicated a fresh rock and snow avalanche had occurred near the summit, running most of the way down the east flank. Seismicity remains above background. Web camera and satellite views of Iliamna volcano from the past 24 hours have been obscured by clouds.
