USGS Menlo Park Science Center Earth Science Day 2008
The USGS Menlo Park Science Center will celebrate Earth Science Week 2008 (October 12-18) "No Child Left Inside" by inviting 1,000 Bay Area school children in grades 2-6 to attend an Earth Science Day event on campus Thursday, October 16, from 9:00a - 2:30p. USGS is pleased to host this event that gives students and teachers the opportunity to talk with scientists and learn about the Earth through interactive displays and presentations. Activities and exhibits will be suitable for elementary and middle school students grades (2-6).
Invitational emails were sent to over 400 local teachers and the response was overwhelming. We met our limit of 1,000 students within hours. We are sorry we can not accomodate more students.
