Shishaldin Volcano is located near the center of Unimak Island about 1,100 km southwest of Anchorage, Alaska. The volcano has a spectacular symmetric cone about 16 km in diameter at the base and 2857 m tall, which makes it the highest peak in the Aleutian Islands. The two other historically active volcanoes on Unimak Island are Westdahl Peak and Isantoski Volcano. |
