At this seismic station on the flank of Popocatépetl Volcano in Mexico, USGS and Mexican scientists worked together to install a new tiltmeter to monitor the volcano's deformation and an acoustic-flow monitor to detect the passage of a lahar. These and other monitoring instruments and data-acquistion systems were installed during Popocatépetl's recent unrest. |
